If I were this actor, I would say go for gambling, or go off for gambling. Strangely, this is not what I surely heard. Thanks ahead.

"Could go off gambling" or "Could go to gamble" would be correct.

Yes, this is perfectly natural colloquial English, even if not very grammatically correct. "To go off" in this context means "to leave", so the person is leaving to go gambling.

Since the script-writers of films will aim to reproduce colloquial language, you will meet many "non-correct" and informal structures. So watching films is as good a way as any, or reading modern novels, particularly those written by men.

By the way, in the same episode, I heard this as well : -Are you really insist? - Yes, I'm insist. I can't imagine how I can speak like this in a native English speaking country.
