Hi, why when I tried to search for a meaning of the idiom " it sucks you dry ", I found nothing? Would you please tell me the meaning, better with an online reference on it. Thanks ahead.

If somebody sucks you dry he sucks the life blood out of you. Example: Be careful! He's a leech. If you give him half a chance he will suck you dry.

Another example: Your common energy leeches include, your computer monitor, the constant barrage of phone calls, or your boss giving you stress on the latest deadlines. This sucks you dry leaving you empty and ready for a night in doing nothing but feeling sorry for yourself. When you don't go and do your workout, you'll feel even more deflated lowering your energy levels yet further.
