q: Why is everyone else wrong ?
Everyone - every person. Anyone - any person.
In this sentence, anyone is the correct word as he is not interested in what any person says.

outgrow = to become too big for something, or to lose interest in something as someone grows older and more mature. In this case, the second meaning is intended.
You can outgrow a gift. A child uses a rattle as a baby, but soon outgrows it as he or she starts to sit up and move about. | . | | The Following User Says Thank You to Anglika For This Useful Post:

| | Re: 2 questions inexercise,thanks~~~ Any = no matter who
I wonder how the old Russian name got into a modern English textbook.
'Mihailo' is old Russian for 'Mihail'
By the way, Mihailo Vasiliyevich is associated with the surname Lomonosov the founder of Russian science and Moscow University who lived in the 18th century. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Clark For This Useful Post:

Yeah,you are very right.
In morden China, money is first to the most people( China is not rich ,in fact).
But in my mind ,Lomonosov is an idol and very great and handsome and intelligent and diligent , and he has unimaginable contributions to his motherland( esp. in rhetoric ) |

| | Re: 2 questions inexercise, thanks~~~ Q #1 - Every one else and anyone else are both correct. However, everyone else means that you are referring to a specific group. If you are at your job, and he doesn't care what everyone else thinks, you are only talking about the people at your job. If he doesn't care what anyone else thinks, then you are talking about anyone in the world. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to jkrause For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
