my boss asked me what the difference is between the words "seating" and "sitting" could you please help me?

"seating" [noun[ = seats that are provided in a place [ie, a cinema, theatre, public transport] or the plan for where people will sit at an event.
"sitting" [verb] is the participle of "sit"
