The work has been very boring lately. They are not giving (assigning?) me tasks anymore. They know that I am leaving soon and they don't want to take chances of having a task not completed in time. They fear that I may leave an incomplete task behind when I go away.

Either "My work" or simply "Work" has been very boring lately. They are not giving (assigning? - I like assigning but either is okay) me tasks anymore. They know that I am leaving soon and they don't want to take the chance that a task will not completed in time. They fear that I may leave behind an incomplete task when I go away.
