Did you correct only what was wrong? Or did you change things that were grammatically correct just to adapt it to your personal style?

I don't see anything wrong with the sentence.
The underlined part sounds a bit vague though.

With the underlined part I wanted to say "you changed the text just because you are a pretentious person and want to impose your writing style on me".

(not a professional teacher) I agree that "suit your personal style" fits best. The phrase "change it to suit" is very common in most English variants I'm aware of, and sounds very natural.
