Default How do I know the time in foreign countries?

Suppose it is 2000 hours of Saturday, 12th July 2008 Hong Kong time, may I ask what is the time in the USA(San Francisco) then? Is it Sunday morning or what? How can I make it out? Thank you for your advice.

Is this a question on English or Geography?

US time is always behind Asian time.
HK/China is in the same time zone as Malaysia/Singapore so your time is the same as mine.
US is divided into quite a number of time zones.
Eastern USA is 12 hours behind us, i.e. it is 0800 hrs on Saturday in NY whereas the West Coast is about 16 hours behind, so the time there is 0400 hrs. The time difference is reduced by 1 hr when there is daylight saving.

I beg your pardon. Indeed, it is a geographic question.
I have no way to find the answer, so I just try it here.
Thanks a lot.
May I ask you an additional stupid question? I am an idiot to figures.
What is the Hong Kong time for the Saturday evening in the USA? Is it some time on Sunday, US time? Could you give me the hour rougly?
I have to make it clear because I don't want to wake up my friend while he is sleeping over there.
Thanks again.

To change US(say NY) time to HK time, you add about 12 hrs to your time or you turn your clock full circle forward since your time is ahead. Eg. 8.00 pm Saturday US time is 8 am Sunday HK time.

I think the site gives you the current time of a place but not the time at any point in the future though.

When it is 2:00 AM on Saturday in Osaka, Japan it is 1:00 PM on Friday in New York, New York (USA) and 10:00 AM (Friday) in San Francisco, California (USA). And it is 12:00 AM on Saturday in Jarkata, Indonesia.
