Default To compromise an account?

Citibank says they've repaid anyone whose accounts may have been compromised.

The meaning of "compromise" in this sentence seems different from those in the dictionary. Does it mean "hack"?

Default Re: To compromise an account?

I think 'compromised' in the context means being treated unfairly or being shortchanged.
