Question What is meaning of Cynthia Liao?
Dear Teacher,
I have read these sentences:
(1) At night we went to meet "Cynthia" Liao, a prominent woman communist whose family had been closely associated with Dr.Sun Yat-sen. Cynthia scrutinized our letters of introduction, ...
And,
(2) Cynthia Liao’s Experience.
What is meaning of Cynthia Liao? Is it a Chinese name ?

I don't understand. Is there some governmental block against free access to the Internet in China?

"Cynthia" is a Western female given name. Whoever this person is/was, she used the name. It is possible that she was half-European.
