Where did you find the word bachelor means sing? I can't seem to find it. The phonemic transcript is for example here (its "tch"). bachelor - definition of bachelor by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

First seems ok.
In the second, you had better use the gerund form of "go" therefore "going" as the word "prefer" is connected with it rather than with an infinitive. Howerer, in coloquial forms you can sometimes find the 'incorrect' one.

Then: I prefer going home by walk/by walk/walking to riding a bus.

I spelled (singular) wrong=(sing)

sometimes I hear them say bachelor with (k)
