rules

Hello everyone,

are there any rules when I have to use:
- ache
- hurt
- sore

and are there any rules when I have to use:
- ill
- sick

I have real problems with this words :(

Tooth\stomach\ear\head\back ache (and heart ache,though that's not medical). Everything else is sore. ;-) They all hurt.

And what's about "ill and sick"?

When I look TV (DVD) there are sometimes used "ill" and sometimes "sick". I know that both have the same translation. But when I have to use "ill", and when I have to use "sick" ?

Example:
1a.) I feel ill.
1b.) I feel sick.

2a.) He is very ill.
2b.) He is very sick.

Which of these sentences are correct?
