Smile Cross OR Across

I would say that I like to travel cross Europe though I am not sure if I have to say:

I like to travel cross Europe OR across Europe

Default Re: Cross OR Across

Ex: I like to travel (a)cross Europe.

The intial vowel in across is often reduced to schwa, which means it's unstressed, and for that reason it is often either barely heard or omitted altogether. The conservative usage is across.
