I read from a grammar book that words like 'love','hate' can be used both in past form and present form without changing meaning. For expamle:
A,'Do you hate me?'
B,' I hate/hated you.'
Is it true? Please.
A,'Do you hate me?'
B,' I hated you.'
Does it mean that B doesn't hate A any more? Please.
Probably, but you'd need to hear the intonation in B's voice.
Imagine / an increase in pitch, \ a decrease.
I / hated \ you. This would tend to mean B doesn't hate A any more.
I \ hated you _ could mean B still hates A (for something A did, and which B is referring to)
But your conversation would not occur in real life without some adverbs or other context.
