Default "In a kind of Magical thinking.."

    Hello Teacher,

Could you please kindly advise me the meaning of the above mentioned sentence?? Thank you for your kind help in advance. Below are the original source.

"We of the postfeminist generation grew up being told we could do anything, be anything, if we just put our minds to it. Yet, if we have the power to create our own fates, wouldn’t the corollary be that we’re also responsible for our own misfortunes? And, in a kind of double magical thinking, shouldn’t we be able to cure ourselves using the same indefatigable will?..."

Magical thinking is thinking that is illogical. It is thinking without the use of logic. It is magical in the sense that it is not based on reality.

(There is no need to thank people in advance for things they haven't done.)

    Hello Ron,

Thank you for the advice. As for me, I am just afriad that I might forget to check the reply on a regular basis and some teachers as kind and generous like you guys who are always willing to provide your help might not receive the deserved appreciations...maybe it seemed to be too polite...
You know that we Chinese long have this Confucianism value deeply rooted in our culture...I am kind of old-fashion...^_^
