Hi,
I have question about this word-understood in this context. Why does Paul use the past tense? He says understood.
If he says understand, or Yeah, I get it. Then is there a difference among them?
Thanks for your help.
V: Hello?
Paul: We have a small complication. There's a lawyer poking around.
V: Veronica Donovan.
Paul: Yes.
V: You can handle a girl who graduated in the middle of her Baylor law school class. At least I'd like to think so, given the stakes of what we're dealing with here. Anyone that's a threat to what we're doing is expendable. Anyone.
Paul: Understood.
V: Then do what you need to do to make this go away.
This is Participle. He is not saying "I understood" but "It is understood" - short "Understood"
Yes, that's right.
