Make-up free, and wearing a casual white dress and ethnic-style sandals, Fern's summer wardrobe let her down in a big way as she unwittingly revealed her rear end.

Hello! What is 'ethnic-style sandals' ? I saw the picture in the news as attachment 1 and I also got another picture via Google as attachment 2.

But I am not sure what it is. Does 'ethnic-style' refer to a pair of sandals that fixes between first toes and second toes?

Ethnic-style - style or design that reflects the ethnicity or the culture of race of people for eg. Japanese style with the cute, dainty decorations or the Chinese style with Chinese floral decorations with red as popular colour.

fixes the toes - separates the toes hmmm....I wonder too if there's better way to describe that.
