Which one is correct:

There is a bunch of clues
or
There are a bunch of clues

I feel that the first is correct, but I often hear the second.

Default Re: There is/are a bunch of clues

Both are "correct" - it will depend on whether you are considering "bunch" or "clues" as the relevant subject.
