Fiscal year - Financial year
Hi,
Would you tell me if "fiscal year" and "financial year" are similar?
Ex: Since the inflation began, we have not cared of the coming fiscal/financial year.
Thanks.

"fiscal year" seems more common, at least when talking about governments.
Ex: Since the inflation began, we have not cared of the coming fiscal/financial year. This is not a good sentence. I don't know what it is supposed to mean.
Thanks.

I meant with the appearance of inflation, we have not paid attention to the government's financial policies or what related to money and economy in the coming year. I am very pleased if you and other members make this sentence better.
Thanks

Who is "we"? Is someone speaking for the government or for a company, or is an ordinary person speaking? Ordinary people wouldn't say "fiscal year" and probably also wouldn't say "financial year".

I meant with the (1) appearance of inflation, we have not (2) paid attention to the government's financial policies or what related to money and economy in the coming year.

I also don't see how the lst part of your sentence is related to the 2nd. What has the current inflation got to do with your paying attention to news about the economy and the government financial policies?

tedtmc's question is noted but you can say something like, 'Since inflation (began)(appeared), we have not paid attention to the government's (financial)(fiscal) and economic policies for the coming year.'
