Are you accommodated is followed by a slightly slangish intonation (say: Boy, are you well accommodated?!) that shouts, let's say, ''Attaboy!''. And why that? Because he's in a country that's not his home, even though he might be calling it home, and rightfully: They treat him well - Chinese are incredibly good to him, and it feels like home, so it probably feels right to call China home, hence cheer for China in Olympics.
So, definitely - my 'joke' was an utter opposite.
What a fuss about badly interpreted joke.

Supporting Soup - Assumptions tend to do that.

I hope you got me right now.

Sincerely,
Ivan.
So I may claim that I haven't misinterpreted your remarks by taking them literally. Or I may say I failed to take them as a joke. I do hope it is a joke. I have no political affiliation and I like to communicate with anyone who is not biased and easily influenced by the media and politics. I may have been oversensitive in your eyes. And if you feel offended, I would be sorry for that. If you agree, let's move past it and move on in our communication. If you object, forget about it.
Thanks for your detailed explanation.

I honestly think that political differences must be left out of this forum.
Offence took by me is presented in your exclamation and description of my response as stupidity. I just pointed out what was, in my opinion, wrong in your presentation, and what could've been easily avoided (for your sake, firstly).

Rest assured, I haven't got the slightest interest in being in rotten relations with you, or anyone else here.

All the best!

Through your case I've got a better understanding of "People do not always mean what they say or say what they mean." Let me straighten things out:I didn't misinterpret your remarks in that post at all. It is fun to see how you take pains to cover things up and cheat those who are less intelligent. I do not have interest in any relation with you either. Remember, every member of this forum is expected to seek help or help others, rather than ruin others' interactive activities. I won't talk to you any more, period!

ohmyrichard, I'm now convinced you lack knowledge of English language. You don't seem to understand it very well, and that's what causing all the trouble. I pointed out that I don't have interest in having rotten, in other words - bad relations with you. I've never tried to 'ruin others' interactive activities'. This fact is supported by my earlier posts.

Your unsolicited advice is not something I need to come across on every log-in.
This is the second time that I ask you to try to better understand my posts, and the second time I warn you for insults. Had any of my posts presented a threat to normal conversation, I think one of many moderators would have warned me, but as I see, you are the only one that's disrupting the thread.

p.s. I always say what I mean, and always mean what I say. How you interpret it is another subject that you seem pretty fond of. But that's not my problem.

I.

Right - I am now interrupting.

Please please don't get into this sort of argument. It is not worth it. Just agree to disagree on the original point made and accept that people on these forums genuinely and generally want to be helpful.

A line is now drawn under this thread.
