esltutor is on a distinguished road
Default Re: team

A "team" is a group of people working towards a common purpose.

A "teamplayer" is a person who contributes to the team and towards achieving the purpose or goal(s) of the team. So to be a "teamplayer," one should contribute to the team in this way.

Hi elstutor,

Would you be kind enough to tell me which preposition must I use in the following sentences?

He was established himself as a regular player in (on) the team.

Is Brett Favre expected to choose which team he will play for?

In addition he will play on the American team against English collegians.

He will play with the U.S. team at the Beijing Olimpics next month.

Wade will play for team USA in Beijing.

Chambel will play for United First team.

Why should I play with your team?

Thank you for your effort.

Regards

V.

He will play with the U.S. team at the Beijing Olympics next month. He will be part of the US team... [unless of course he is in a team sport, which case "he will be part of the US basketball team"...]

Wade will play for team USA in Beijing. Possible, but very much a news headline rather than a proper sentence.

Chambel will play for United First team. same as the last comment

Why should I play with your team? Obscure - does this mean on the team or against the team or [as with a group of children] with other people.

Thank you for your effort.
