Halloween hauntings
Hello everyone
I'd like to ask what "Halloween hauntings" implies in the following context:
This in turn is overlaid with traces of the limited and bizarre way in which the secular Western world today views any supposed dimension beyond this material one—usually as Halloween hauntings, vampires, ghouls, creatures that ooze slime, or fearsome extraterrestrials.
Does "Halloween hauntings" imply occasions/events when people scare one another on Halloween day?

Re: Halloween hauntings
It implies that they are not real hauntings, but the dress-up ersatz hauntings of Halloween, particularly in the US.
