I have a question. How do you say it in English when you want to tell someone, like when you are chatting, that you want to stop using the internet. Is it sign off/turn off/log off/get off from the internet? Is it different in AmE and BrE? I want to emphasize that I'm not going to stop chatting, but stop using internet. Ans as second question, is internet or the internet? Many thanks in advance, A.

I'm logging off now / I'm signing off now would be usual. It is "the internet".

It's 'signing out' of a chatroom. You could still be 'logged in' to the internet even though you've signed out of a chatroom. not a teacher
