Team works OR Teams work...?

I want to say that I worked within different teams and I am not sure how to make the plural form. I know that, generally in cases with two words, I have to make the plural form by making the second word as plural. Though in this case I am not sure. For example:

If I say Team works it means one team that works for different projects.

If I say Teams work it means different teams in the same project.

Is it correct?

"teams" would be the word to use. It is not necessary to include work in this context.
