Default Regime - alternative meaning

Hello Everybody,

My English papers involve a wide variety of topics, hence the need to use broad vocabulary. This morning I stopped typing to give a thought to the following problem:

'regime' = a system of political dictatorship; tyranny; totalitarian rule (quite obvious),

'regime' = a set of technological parameters to be strictly observed in order to maintain quality, safety, consistency, etc. (my guess).

Am I right thinking that the noun 'regime' can be used in the second sense, too?

As usual, I'll be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards,

Dear Cas,

(If you don't mind such an abbreviation of your code name, one of the prettier constellations in the Northern Hemisphere, by the way)

Thank you very much, indeed.

Till the next time
