i got a flat tire

hello guys!!!

Yesterday whe I was working a had a problem with muy truck's tire, it was flat.... I had to write a report about it, because the mechanic need it to fix the problem.... but... my questions is.... did I write the repor right?
Here is What I wrote:
"... I was working and suddenly I got a flat tire...."
---> Am I using the verb get right <----- I always have troubles whit this verb i makes me craizy!!!!!

Since you do not have a tire, it is incorrect.

"While I was working, my truck's tire got a flat".

I would always try to persuade people to find another word than "get". So "my truck's tire was punctured".
