dumped a load - not sure about this one, but a possible 'translation' might be 'nearly sh&t themselves' - they were very frightened/shocked

rat out - report to the authorities

Drop the attitude - "attitude" on its own has come to mean "bad attitude", so the whole expression means 'Stop being so obstructive'

you give me grief - to 'give someone grief' is to 'make life hard' for them

Thanks for your help! As I said to Anglika two days ago, I search the words in OneLook Dictionary Search and Urban Dictionary drives me crazy. If you type "rat out" there, you'll get something like that:

Note - 'hard to' doesn't work with an inanimate 'subject' (although you could say, for example, "My boss is very hard to me"). In 'seems very hard to me' the "to" belongs to the "seems".
