    Default how do you say it?

    hi,
    how do you say ''to become closer to someone that is not familiar to you''.
    I mean the act of building up confidence and learning to trust the person, to the point of sharing personal details and so on.
    someone posted the expression ''to open up'' on this forum.
    "to open up" as you get to know the person....
    is that the best way to say it?

    to get know each other
    begin getting on
