What kind of learner are you? Are you a visual learner? or do you learn best by listening? or do you learn best by writing?

Explore yourself and figure out HOW you want to learn a new language.

You could put them into an order of interest, and set yourself to read one per month.

Start with the simplest book.

I see..

But what about if the book contains 60 units? Do you mean that I study 2 units every day?

What about if I can study 5 or 6 units a day?

If you are a visual learner, then go to art museums and get the reading material that accompanies the art displays.

Listen to music _ NOT RAP music - and read the words to the songs. Listen to the phrasing used by artists such as Tony Bennett and Sheryl Crow.

Go to your favorite restaurant or store and read recipes. Make the food at home from these recipes.

Go to (or rent) a movie and then get the movie script to study.

Read children's books. They usually have lots of pictures, an easier vocabulary level and shorter sentences.

Learning a language should be fun and casual AND use all the senses.

Just grab any book and start reading...
be patient, take your time and try to enjoy what you are reading.
don't think too much, take action.
start reading any of your books NOW.
good luck.

I totally agree with what you have said. Reading books requires patience. It is difficult for you to read a book from the first page till the last one but, once you get started, you are going to enjoy what you are reading. So, I advice you to start reading and don't stop just because you are feeling bored.Keep on reading no matter how you feel.

One more thing I want to add is that it would be better to select books which contain topics that you are interested in, especially if you are reading for personal purposes not for academic ones.

Good luck.
