Are French fries countable or uncountable? 'Many french fries' or 'much french fries'?

Same for steak: Should I say 'many steaks' or 'much steak'?

As you're Brazilian you're more likely to go to the USA. But in the UK 'French fries' are something you only get in fast-food outlets (and maybe in some restaurants). I've never heard an Englishman or woman in his or her own kitchen cook anything but 'chips' (also countable ).
