what's different between accent and dialect?

Accent -way of speaking that is unique to a country, area or class.
Dialect - way of speaking a language used only in a particular area or by a particular group.

Very similar; most non-native speakers would not need to be concerned with distinguishing between them. An accent is mostly heard in the way in which words are pronounced - a dialect may also be recognized by what words are selected.
