Younger than the mountains (Does this mean his life was younger than the mountains?)
blowing like breeze (His life was so fast like the breeze? came and went?)

Miner's lady, stranger to blue water ( What is miner?Who's lady? what stranger?)
Dark and dusty painted on the sky (His memories were dark and dusty? Why were they painted)

I hear her voice in the morning hours she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away (is the radio in the car?)
And driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday (Does this mean someone in his family died so the mountain mama were trying to tell him so he got a feelin that he should have been home yesterday to see his family one last time?)

I completely agree with Ron.

Rather than trying to understand each line, think instead of how you would feel if you lived far away from where you grew up. Now you are driving home and remembering all the things you loved about where you grew up. What words would you choose?
