Question When to use 'Due To'

I have been advised that the term 'due to' can only be used in reference to time? So the sentence "She has acne due to poor eating habits" would be considered incorrect. Is this right?

Default Re: When to use 'Due To'

The sentence you quoted is correct.

"Due to" can also be used to give a reason for something.

She has acne. The reason is she has poor eating habits.

What you've been told is wrong. The term "due to" can be used in quite a few ways in the right context.
