Default insights

Hello everyone

I'd like to ask about the meaning of "insights" in the following context:

One of the central insights of quantum physics is that the effect
of the observer on the quantum field will cause reality to reorganize
itself according to the observation and that observed reality must
then descend through the frequency levels below the quantum field
before it reaches density in material reality.

It seems to me that in this case "insights" does not mean intuition or intuitive understanding. To me, in this context "insights" sounds more like postulates but I'm not sure.

Insight = (the ability to have) a clear, deep and sometimes sudden understanding of a complicated problem or situation. I am not sure that "intuitive" is relevant to this.

So in this case "insights" implies as follows:

One can understand certain things (that the effect of the observer on the quantum field will cause reality to reorganize etc.) thanks to quantum physics.

Am I correct?

Hi KLPNO,

The term “insight” is an all-purpose term. There are also many different synonyms which are in general currency in the contemporary English language.

insight = acumen, acuteness, apprehension, awareness, discernment, understanding, penetration, intuition…..

intuition = the power to discern the true nature of a person or situation:

Middle English intuicioun, insight, from Late Latin intuitiō, intuitiōn-, a looking at, from Latin intuitus, a look, from past participle of intuērī, to look at, contemplate : in-, on; see in–2 + tuērī, to look at.]

Regards,

V.
