Default lake dwelling

Greetings,
I would like to have a confirmation on the meaning of 'lake dwelling'
Is it a type of house or a term addressed to all houses which are built over the ocean?
What about 'stilt house' and 'pile dwelling'?

Your efforts are mostly appreciated.
Thanks.

Default Re: lake dwelling

Lake dwelling is simply a house on a lake, called a lakefront home.

A stilt house or pile dwelling are homes where the foundation had to be built on either stilts or pile- driven posts, since they are close to water.

At least, that's the definition in Michigan, USA

Context would be helpful. In European archaeology, Lake dwellings were houses or groups of houses on stilts within lakes.
