Default in the event

"This is to express my interest in a designer position in the event some needs develop at your company."

I would like to know another way to say it better.

Also, I was trying to find some synonyms about "in the event" and was not able to do so because I don't know where to search. Is there a place on the net where we can search for expressions like that?

Thank you

How about:

This is to express my interest in a designer position within your company should such a post become available.
