Default lieutenant-governor and Governor-general

Dear teachers,

Could you please explain "lieutenant-Governor" and "Governor-general"? To me they both represent the Queen. Is that right?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.

Jiang

In Canada, and probably in (some) other Commonwealth countries, the G-g is the Queen's representative for the whole country and has a role in the national government. The L-g is the Queen's representative for a single province or territory, so there are many of them, and has a role in his/her province's/territory's government.
