Default An Ancient Chinese Saying?

Hello Everyone,

Can you correct the following according to my translated?

The following is translated from a proverb made by Yanzi, a prominent ancient politician and ideologist in Qi dynasty, known for his eloquence and diplomatic skills!

The original:

晏闻古之贤君,饱而知人之饥,温而知人之寒,逸而知人之劳。今君不知也。

My translated:

I heard a wise ancient emperor , when enjoying a pleasant life, always remembered the ordinary who , without enough necessity, had to work hard. However, your majesty didn’t.

Background: Yanzi made the remark when he tried to persuade the king that he should think more of its people to maintain a smooth control of his state.

Regards

Sky
