Default help in sentence framing

Hi,
In my SOP, I intend to write a statement of the below type. But I'm unable to frame it properly. Can you help me with a good sentence as its substitute

A lot of credit goes to the researchers for their contributions to the advancement in ABCD which played an important role in the realization of XYZ's Law.

Also, my SOP is containing a lot of 'contributions' . Is there any good alternative for the word 'contribution'

Also, when we write a project title in SOP, should it be withing single quotes or double quotes.

Thanks a lot,
Satish

Also, when we write a project title in SOP, should it be withing single quotes or double quotes. I would either bold it or italicise it. Which quotes you use is your choice.

Thanks a lot,
Satish
