Default strength or force?

...with situations like this, I don’t know if I would have had the strength...

hi,
I'd like to know why 'strength' is used in this sentence instead of 'force'. how to distinguish when to use each one, please?
thanks.

Default Re: strength or force?

strength = the quality or state of being strong, physically, emotionally or intellectually.

force = energy as an attribute of action or movement

With reference to the [part] sentence you have given, the context makes it clear that strength of mind or emotions is required to cope with events. There is no physical exertion implied.
