Default No Service

Dear friends and Teachers,

A: Call Diana and tell her to come here at once.
B: Ok! Oh no! No service.

- Does "no service" in this context mean "no wave"? If so, why don't we say "No wave"?

Thanks a million!

NamSteven

Default Re: No Service

Not really enough context. It could mean the phone was not working, or that B is refusing to carry out the order.
