Default nightly

Hi,
Dad often waits the nightly live football game on TV at 11 p.m.
Could you please tell me if "nightly" was used correctly?

Yes, nightly is right. It's probably not live if it's on at 11pm.
Do you mean "watches" instead of "waits"?
