My teacher said that "no matter even though" here isn't correct. She asked us to research it at home and give her explanation the following week.

Can you explain to me this grammar point and tell me how I can use it?

The problem isn't "even though". It's the combination no matter even though.

The sentence is ok if you leave out "no matter" and "is" and add an "s" to side, as below.

He always sides with me through thick and thin and even though I am the biggest loser ever.

I forgot to say that you should also delete the "and".

No matter even though do not go together in this sentence, what makes you think that they do, what do you think they mean together?

It's possibly a misprint in the book for "no matter even that".
You could say "He stayed with me no matter even that I am the biggest loser."
This means: "It doesn't even matter that I am the biggest loser; he stayed with me".
"no matter that I am" and "even though I am" mean a similar thing.
The reason is that you can't just put two phrases that mean a similar thing together like this. That should keep your teacher happy.
