I had been a subject prefect
Hi, teachers,
Could you pls check if the follow sentence is correct :
1. I had been a subject prefect every year at my primary school, so I don't want to be
a subject prefect again.
(that means from P.1 to P.6 i was selected subject prefect ,I want to change start from secondary .)

Re: I had been a subject prefect
The past perfect is a secondary past, which is used relative to another past referance. You only have one past referance in your sentence so the past simple is appropriate (was).
I'm not a teacher.
