Default 'think out of the box'

Could you let me know what words to use to explain 'think out of the box'?

    Is 'creative' fine?

    Many thanks.

"Thinking outside of the box" means to consider not-so-obvious solutions to a problem. "Creative" is a good simile. The origin of the phrase comes from an old puzzle.
