In the sentence below, what does "hip and cool" mean?

I like a wide range of music, some of it hip and cool and some of it...um...not.

They are terms which are used by young people.

They are used to mean currently fashionable/trendy.

Something which is judged to be hip and cool now may not be in the future, because trends come and go.

I am not a teacher.

I'd also guess that much of their music falls into the 'not hip and cool' category.
