| I don’t understand (Question 1) what message the song ‘4 minutes’ by Madonna and Justin wants to convey. Question 2 And I also don’t understand some of the line. Please help me! For example, what does ‘it’ refer to in the chorus: If you want it You already got it If you thought it It better be what you want If you feel it It must be real Just say the word and Imma give you what you want Question 3: What is ‘stroll’ and ‘roll’ in the lyric. What do they mean? Come on, boy I've been waiting for somebody To pick up my stroll (Justin:) Well, don't waste time Give me a sign Tell me how you want to roll Question 4 What is ‘pri’? What is ‘tick and tock’? What did they say ‘keep it up? (Madonna, Justin & Timbaland:) Keep it up, keep it up, don't be a pri, hey Madonna, uh You gotta get in line, hop Tick tock tick tock tick tock That's right, keep it up, keep it up, don't be a pri, hey Madonna, uh You gotta get in line, hop Tick tock tick tock tick tock Thanks a lot Pete |

| Hi Pete I think Madonna and Justin probably don't know what a lot of those lyrics mean themselves! I think the meaning of 'it' has been left for the listener to decide, but it probably means 'love' or 'my heart' ... maybe 'sex'. I've heard 'roll' used this way quite a lot, and I think it means 'procede' or 'behave' ... or maybe refers to someone's style of living. "hey, baby - that's how I roll" (that's my style, that's what I do, that's the way I live my life) 'tick tock tick tock' usually refers to the sound made by a clock. So maybe they're making a reference to time passing, time running out or maybe waiting for something. Brian COMICS for students ... Grammarman Comic . Last edited by Brian Boyd; 14-Sep-2008 at 08:21. | Doesn't everything in pop songs mean "sex" unless there is good evidence otherwise? |
