Hi! What's the connotation of 'south side of Chicago'? The words gave me a vibration that the place is not good.

The south side of Chicago has long been considered a "bad" area of town - lots of gangs, lots of violence, poverty, etc. Similar to South Central Los Angeles and West Philadelphia; mention any of the above locales to an American and you know immediately that you're dealing with some hard-nosed people. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Ouisch For This Useful Post: | |
