Can you imagine anything more stupid or dumb than a wooden post?![]()
In the name of the Merciful Allah,
Hi, please I want to know the meaning of the words in black in the following quote:This book is not about statistics. You will not find one explanation of statistical theory or how calculations are performed. This book is about what you can do to command SPSS to calculate statistics for you. The inside truth is that you can be as dumb as a post about statistical calculation techniques and still use SPSS to produce some nifty stats. You have my permission to stop thinking right now.
Thanks ahead.

Thanks to you, post is now clear. But dump still ambiguous. It's not as same as stupid. I searched the online dictionaries and the definitions I came up with are either a pile, the place where this pile is accumulated, the act of this accumulation, or a storage. I can't find any of these meanings fitting my quote.
That's because it is "dumb" and in this context "dumb" = "stupid" >> dumb definition |Dictionary.com
It is #1 in the definitions.
Thanks again. No wonder you're so appreciated in this forum. But I prefer the second meaning.
I am not a teacher.
