Is there a device, perched on streets and roads, that measures the speed of the cars, and, as a result, imposes fines to the drivers that disobey the speed limit? And what´s the difference between a police raid and a stop check? |

In America, the police will use radar devices in their patrol cars that can measure speed. There are also cameras on posts in larger cities that can monitor speed and other violations (running a red light) The owner of the car is sent the ticket in the mail! |

What about the difference between police raid and stop check?
Stop Check is when the police set up a lane in the road for drivers to enter and are checked for seat belt law compliance or even whether they are drunk driving. They are called Check Lanes or Check Points.
A police "raid" is a planned police action where several officers surround and enter a resident or business by surprise.

The traffic police have devices in their patrol cars which both video the vehicle and show the speed it is going.
