 ascendance of work teams?  What is the meaning of the underlined sentence, esp the ascendance of work teams? And in the second sentence why is it said that emphasis become competence? How can emphasis become competence? The ascendance of work teams in large U.S. organizations puts a new premium on the relationship of team members. In fact, emphasis on teamwork has long become the most frequently valued managerial competence in studies of organizations around the world.
